What happens to the food that is prepared on the air on tv shows like Martha Stewart or Rachel Ray?

I'm not talking about the finished product. I'm talking about the food that is raw or partially cooked on the air. What happens to it? Is it thrown out? Or do the people who work on the show eat it?
