To Brazilians, is pronunciation important in Portuguese?

Im might go on a trip to Brazil and i have practicing my Portuguese but im always stuck on pronunciation but i know the rest like vowels, a few sounds, and more! do Brazilians really care bout the pronunciation in their language? when i go can i just speak a sentence in Portuguse w/ out pronunciation will they understand?
