How would you pronounce the name Carys?

We named my daughter Carys and 99% of people don't get the pronounce it correctly...the Y is a vowel as in Gladys, Lynn, etc! The origin is Welsh and it's in the top 20 name list in Wales...but here in the states ppl aren't familiar. She is 3 months old and it's such an issue everywhere we go that we're considering changing her name so she doesn't constantly have to explain her name, how it's spelled, and pronounced and STILL get puzzled looks. It's not a made up name but may as well be since ppl haven't seen it around here.
