Would this work for my piggy?

My house is kinda cold and i'm scared my guinea pig will get too cold!!! (the landlord is REALLY cheap, so he won't turn up the heat) Petco doesn't have any cozies for piggys so, i was thinking i cold ask my friend (who knows how to crochet) to make my piggy a blanket (or a cozy) would it work?
