Why don't hippies move away?

My favorite time in American History was the Palmer Raids, when hundreds of hippies were rounded up and deported to the USSR. You would think they'd be happy to go to workers paradise, but no, they whined like a bunch of crybabies. Hippies keep complaining about how evil and poor America is, so why don't they just move to a richer, more respectable country like Cuba or North Korea? Why do they continue to work at jobs for evil businessmen, take medicine invented by evil pharmaceutical companies, live in apartments built by evil landlords, and use public infrastructure financed by evil rich people? Are they just plain hypocrites or am I missing something?
