What type of poem is dreams by langston Hughes?
The question is not asked precisely. The poem operates by metaphor--life is not _literally_ a bird or a field. It's a brief lyric with metaphors in it; it's also a hortatory poem, in that it urges the reader to do something ("hold fast to dreams").
