Should the mom of an unborn baby see them after she gives birth ?

My sister in law is 21 weeks in her pregnancy just yesterday she went for her check up and the doctor could not hear the baby's heart, they rushed her into emergency and later found out the baby is dead... as I'm writing they still are giving her some kind of pill to induce labor ... is it emotionally safe for her to see the baby even do is not complete develop.... does someone else know more about this kind of procedure cuz it's been over 24 hrs is too painfull to keep watching her on that bed knowing she is going to give birth to a dead baby. thanks !!!!
